Discord's File Attachments FAQ says the free upload limit is 20 MB as of August 2026, while its separate Account Caps page still lists 10 MB for a base account. Both list 50 MB for Nitro Basic and up to 500 MB for Nitro. Check the limit shown in your client before preparing an attachment.
A Save Replay link does not bypass Discord rules. It changes the message from a large attachment into an ordinary URL for a clip hosted elsewhere. The chat stays in Discord while the video opens on its own browser watch page.

Will the viewer need Nitro?

Should the clip be public?
Only when intentional broad sharing is appropriate. Unlisted remains forwardable; use password protection when a shared secret is needed.
