Public vs Unlisted vs Private Video Links

Unlisted means excluded from search discovery; it does not mean that a forwarded URL stops working. Use it for a low-friction handoff where the link should not be intentionally indexed, but the audience is trusted to handle the URL.

Public clips are also directly shareable. Search eligibility is deliberately stricter than public access: incomplete, expired, deleted, restricted, or low-information clips remain out of search and sitemaps.

Password-protected pages avoid exposing the saved title, description, source filename, thumbnail, or media URL to an unauthorized request. Share the password through an appropriate channel and rotate the clip's access if the audience changes.

Private is owner-only and requires a verified owner session. Regardless of the setting, remove credentials and unnecessary personal information before uploading; privacy controls reduce access but cannot make an unsafe recording harmless.
