How to Record Gameplay Clips With AMD Instant Replay
AMD Instant Replay continuously keeps recent gameplay available while the feature is on. When something worth sharing happens, the assigned media hotkey saves that recent window to the configured media folder.

Use a Full installation of AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition, search for Record, and open Record & Stream Settings. Configure the media folder, quality, audio, and Instant Replay duration. Then open Hotkey Settings, note or assign the Save Instant Replay hotkey, enable the replay, and press that hotkey after the moment occurs.
A practical framework
Work through the decision in four steps
- 1
Open Record & Stream Settings
Search for Record inside AMD Software and select Record & Stream Settings. If recording controls are absent, check that AMD Software was installed with the Full option.
- 2
Configure capture and storage
Choose the recording quality, microphone, media save location, and an Instant Replay duration that keeps enough lead-in for your games.
- 3
Check the media hotkey
Search for Hotkey, open Hotkey Settings, and find Save Instant Replay under Media Hotkeys. Keep the current binding or assign one you can press in-game.
- 4
Save and prepare the clip
Enable Instant Replay, press its save hotkey after the event, review the file in the media folder, then trim and share the useful range.
Start with the installation type and save folder
AMD states that the Full installation includes recording and streaming controls, while Minimal and Driver Only installations omit those features. If searching for Record produces no Record & Stream result, check the installed package before looking for a missing replay switch.
The current AMD guide lists the default media location as the Radeon ReLive folder inside the Windows user's Videos folder. You can choose another location. Pick a drive with enough free space, save a short test, and open the folder once before playing so you know where the real replay will appear.
Choose a replay duration you can review quickly
AMD's current Record guide says Instant Replay can retain up to the last 20 minutes and that the duration slider moves in 15-second increments. The longest setting is not automatically the best. Longer windows create larger files and more footage to inspect after every saved moment.
Match the duration to the event. A short reaction may need less than a minute, while a tactical play may need the round setup. Record Desktop is a separate choice for desktop content. Leave it off when you only need the game, and review protected or private windows before enabling broader capture.
Treat AMD capture and Save Replay as two stages
AMD Software creates the local source. Save Replay starts after that source exists. Play the saved replay first and check microphone input, game audio, voice chat, camera layers, performance overlays, and any notification that entered the replay window.
Open the compatible file in Save Replay, select the first frame that gives the viewer enough context, and end after the outcome is clear. Preview the range with sound, then upload the prepared selection. The longer AMD replay remains on the device unless you decide to remove it.
