How to Record and Save Gameplay Clips on PS5

Save Recent Gameplay uses the PS5's continuous recent history. Sony says you can save a window from the last 15 seconds up to one hour, which makes this the right choice after a surprise. Open the create menu promptly, choose the recent-gameplay option, and select a duration that begins before the event's necessary setup.

Start New Recording begins a new file from that point forward and can run for up to one hour. Use it for a planned match, walkthrough, or test. Open the create menu again and choose Stop Recording when the take is complete so the source does not include an unnecessary remainder of the session.

PS5 capture settings control the video format and resolution, including 4K recording on compatible displays. Audio sharing settings determine whether the microphone and party voice chat can be included. Ask participants before recording their voices, and play the saved clip to confirm what the console actually captured.

Some scenes and protected content cannot be captured. Do not assume a missing section is a recording failure until you have checked whether the game blocks that scene. Keep enough free storage and customize the create-button shortcut only after you know how its new press and hold actions behave.

Media Gallery is the place to review and manage PS5 captures. The PlayStation App can receive supported manual clips under three minutes at up to 1080p in supported regions, keep them available for 14 days, and download them to the phone. Longer or higher-resolution files can be copied from Media Gallery to a USB drive.

Once the local file is on a phone or computer, open it in Save Replay, keep the setup and outcome, and remove menus or repeated play. Preview the selected range and upload that prepared clip. The console and PlayStation App remain the capture and transfer tools; Save Replay creates the browser watch page afterward.
